Phil Mogler, 99, of Rock Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at Lyon Specialty Care in Rock Rapids.
Funeral service was Monday, June 7, at Apostolic Christian Church, Lester, Iowa, with interment in the church cemetery.
Philip Dietrich Mogler was born Oct. 13, 1921, near Lester to Henry and Pauline (Dietrich) Mogler. He attended Lester High School and graduated in 1940. Shortly after graduating, he started Mogler Farm Industries providing services in electrical, heating, plumbing, kitchen design, pole barn and silo sales, automatic livestock feeding, animal waste handling, and DTN dish communication.
On Oct. 28, 1951, he married Lydia Feucht. They lived in Lester. He was one of the originators of the Home for the Handicapped (now known as Apostolic Christian LifePoints) facility in Morton, Illinois and served on the board 18 years. His wife passed away Feb. 19, 1991.
On Oct. 11, 1992, he married Donna Hartzler.
After having lived 85 years in the Lester area, the couple moved to Rock Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, five daughters, Janice (DeWayne) Nohl and Joyce (Bernie) Messner, all of Hancock, Minnesota, Jeryl (Doug) Grimm of Hiawatha, Kansas; June (Roger) Schulz of Burlington, Iowa, and Jaleen Mogler of Sabetha, Kansas; 29 grandchildren; 83 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Howard Mogler; sister, Florence Knoblock; brother-in-law, Frank Moser; in-laws, Marjorie Feucht, Gene and Eleanor Pamer, Carolyn Hartzler, Vince and Jane Hartzler, Merle and Bonnie Hartzler, Lucille Blough and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents; first wife; five sisters, Dorothy Kellenberger, Melva Messner, Marjorie Mogler, Leona Moser and Verna Moser; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
