Milton “Milt” Peters, 72, of Ruthven, Iowa, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2019, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.
Funeral service was Friday, September 27, at Jurrens Funeral Home, George, Iowa, with interment in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery, George.
Milton Ray Peters was born March 16, 1947, in Sibley, Iowa, the son of Weldon and Phyllis (Krull) Peters. He grew up in George and graduated from George High School. He attained a master’s degree in teaching at Wayne State College. He worked as a teacher and principal various places throughout his life, including West Bend, Iowa, and Moville, Iowa, as a shop teacher and coach; Wayne State College as a coach and recruiter, and YJB (Yale-Jamaica-Bagley), Remsen-Union, East Monona, Rockwell-Swaledale and Ruthven-Ayrshire as principal.
Survivors include two children, Joe (Jenny) Peters of Carroll, Iowa, and Michelle (Todd) Borton of State Center, Iowa; two grandchildren;; sister, Lee Nora Holden of La Mirada, California, and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Bill Holden.
