Marvin Brommer, 90, of Rock Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2019, at Rock Rapids Care Centre.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at First Baptist Church, Luverne, Minnesota, with interment in Grand Prairie Cemetery, Ellsworth, Minnesota.
Marvin Lambert Brommer was born Nov. 25, 1928, to George and Minnie (Broesder) Brommer. He was raised on the family farm near Ellsworth.
On Aug. 21, 1950, he married Verla Heikes. The couple made their home on the family farm south of Ellsworth. Verla died in November 1974.
On Dec. 14, 1977, he married Velma Riemenschneider. The couple lived on the farm until retiring and moving into Luverne in 1992. They lived in Luverne until moving to Rock Rapids Care Centre in January 2018.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Douglas Brommer of Loveland, Colorado; a daughter, Colleen Brommer of Harlem, Montanna; three stepchildren, John (Marcia) Estes of Rock Rapids, Joan (Bruce) Foote of Ellsworth and Sandra (Richard) Brill of Pueblo, Colorado; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; a stepdaughter, Kathy Dutcher, and a daughter-in-law, Julie Brommer.
