Harlan “Butch” H. Linton, 83, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019, at Ava’s House by Sanford in Sioux Falls.
Funeral service was Monday, Oct. 7, at East Side Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls, with interment in Hills of Rest Cemetery, Sioux Falls.
Harlan was born April 24, 1936, in Doon, Iowa, to Howard and Grace (Finck) Linton. He was raised in Doon until the age of 5 when his family moved to Sioux Falls. He attended Washington High School.
On April 14, 1956, he married Sally Lambert. He worked for John Morrell and Company in Sioux Falls 32 years before spending 13 years at CNA Surety in Sioux Falls, retiring in 2001. He continued working at Cardinal Health and Sioux Falls Auto Auction in Tea, South Dakota.
Survivors include his wife; two children, Randy (Kaye) Linton of Newton, Kansas, and Suzie (Roy) Drake of Deadwood, South Dakota; son-in-law, Tim Schmidt of Sioux Falls; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren and one sister, Bette Meinerts of Slayton, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jodie Schmidt; son, Michael Linton; one sister, Alice Johnson and her husband, Ronald; and a brother-in-law, Dave Meinerts.
