Delmer Eugene Fulk, 89, of Sanborn, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2020.
Private family graveside service was Monday, March 23, at Roseland Cemetery, Sanborn.
Gene Fulk was born Nov. 11, 1930, near Cabool, Missouri, son of Bertha Fulk and the late Garland Salisbury. When he became old enough to drive, he struck out on his own, eventually ending up near Sanborn working on a farm. He served in the U.S. Marines from 1952-1954, then returned to Sanborn.
On Nov. 14, 1954, he married Jean Dekker. He farmed in the Sanborn area, was a cattle buyer Clark Cattle Co., Spencer Pack and Hospers Packing Co., all in Iowa, and bred and trained black labradors. His wife passed away in September 2005.
Survivors include his children, Dale (Jean) Fulk of Primghar, Iowa, Diann Huisenga of Tea, South Dakota, and Denise (Ed) Reck of Rock Rapids, Iowa; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty (Loye) Bryan of Willow Springs, Missouri, and Freda Bowman of Parma, Idaho; brother, Dean (Ruth) Peabody of Fruitland, Idaho; sister-in-law, Alice Brook of Willow Springs, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were his wife; son-in-law, Brad Huisenga; his parents; brother, Lee Brook, and sister, Faye.
