Cody Buss, 24 of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2019, at his residence.

Funeral service was Friday, Sept. 27, at Faith Baptist Church, Rock Rapids, Iowa, with interment in Riverview Cemetery, Rock Rapids.

Cody James Allen Buss was born Aug. 16, 1995, in Luverne, Minnesota, the son of Don Buss and Kimberly (Birkeland) Hester. He was raised in Rock Rapids, Alton, Iowa, and Hospers, Iowa, before moving to Sioux Falls at the age of 8 years. He worked various place in Sioux Falls, such as Winter Brothers, Yellow Jacket Landscaping and Tiger Mowers in machine assembly. He most recently worked for West Rock Manufacturing. He also worked part-time in security for Library Bar Restaurant in Sioux Falls.

Survivors include his father of Luverne; his mother of Brandon, South Dakota; a brother, Derek Buss of Sioux Falls; a niece and many aunts, uncles and other extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Roxann Birkeland, and great-grandparents, Orvin Birkeland, Lois Selken, Roy and Alice Buss, Gertrude Freese and Vivian Knobloch.
