Antoinette Lohman, 95, passed away Dec. 18, 2020, in Maryville, Illinois.
A celebration of life and internment will be at a later date.
Antoinette Van Anne was born Aug. 6, 1925, in Rock Rapids, Iowa, to Emil and Bernadina Van Anne. She graduated from Central Lyon High School in 1942 and attended Iowa State Teachers’ College.
In 1948, she married Orval Lohman. They farmed near Luverne, Minnesota, until 1959. They relocated to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where they owned and operated Mount Vernon Motel until 1973.
Toni was active in the Colorado Springs Catholic community, at Benet Hill Monastery, Benet Hill Academy, and Holy Cross Novitiate. She served more than 40 years as a eucharistic minister and as a member of the spiritual care team at Penrose Hospital which awarded her a 40-year service pin in 2015. She was awarded the St. Benedict Award for Service by the Benedictine Monastery in 2017.
Survivors include her sons, Eugene (Mary Angela), Michael and John (Rose Marie); her daughters, Mary Ellen (Cliff) Simmons and Ann (Patrick) Rosenow; her sister, Nancy Van Anne; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and brothers, Francis, Paul, Louis and Robert Van Anne and Frank Linssen.
