Alvera D. Balster, 92, of Ellsworth, Minnesota, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2021, at Sanford Luverne Medical Center.
Private family service was Saturday, 20, at Zion Presbyterian Church, Ellsworth, with interment in Grand Prairie Cemetery, Ellsworth.
Alvera Wentler was born Dec. 6, 1928, in Appleton, Minnesota, to Emra and Verna (Horton) Wentler.
On April 23, 1948, she married Lyle Balster. They farmed near Little Rock, Iowa, until 1963 when they bought a farm near Adrian, Minnesota, which they farmed until 1991. They retired into Ellsworth. On Dec. 27, 2003, they moved into a new home back on the farm. Her husband passed away Nov. 4, 2004.
Survivors include five daughters, Carol (Ray) Van Wyhe of Luverne, Minnesota, Barbara (Bob) Dreke of Rock Rapids, Iowa, Brenda (Steve) Hoffman of Rock Rapids, Lila (Glenn) Erlandson of Rushmore, Minnesota, and Lola (Paul) Donth of Rock Rapids, a son, Larry (Sharon) Balster of Adrian; 21 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; a twin sister, Alvina Breuer of Sibley, Iowa, and a sister-in-law, Mabel Balster of Sibley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, Dallas Mulder; two granddaughters; an infant great-grandson; a grandson-in-law; three brothers, Raymond, Lawrence and Davin Wentler, and five sisters, Gladys Brumly, Lorraine Grubaugh, Doris Allard, Alice Stevenson and Geraline Wentler McCarthy.
